Some of our recent projects:

Bruges Winterglow - Bruges, Belgium - 2021

A wondrous winter experience: that´s what Winterglow is all about. And once again it promises to be a delightful experience. Connection is the theme word of this second edition. The very thing we´ve all been craving after these long, lonely months. Winter Glow and its new lights trail allow us to feel connected with one another, the city and its rich history – all from a safe distance. In this way, the City of Bruges builds on last year's first and extremely successful edition.

CEO Luc Peumans says: "It was challenging for the PWL team to create one whole picture together with so many different works and parties and to guide the visitors through the course in a corona-safe way. We had to follow the rhythm of the public spaces without creating additional obstacles. And then there are different layers of storytelling to attract visitors and hold the visitors' attention. We are very satisfied to finish this difficult year (for all of us) in a beautiful way with a wonderful project that everyone can enjoy".

Fiery Ponds and Twilight Land - Genk, Belgium - 2021

After the overwhelming success of the first edition in 2017 and that of 2018, no fewer than 50,000 visitors were expected for Fiery Ponds 2021. And in addition to the Molenvijver Park, the entire city center would also be given a festive look. The event - which had been one of such a large scale for a long time - was to become one of the highlights of the year for Genk. This year, every visitor was able to immerse themselves in two magical worlds during the enchanting walk of one kilometer past many nice light and fire installations: Twilight Land and Fire Land. The Molenvijver Park was thus transformed into one large open-air spectacle.

Painting With Light played the lead role in the dark shadowy Schemerland: a world of light that had to dispel the dark days that everyone would find themselves again during the winter time. We created four enchanting light installations:

  • Weaving: parabolic structures with neon cord illuminated by blacklights

  • Mythical Creatures: Projection of Holographic Animals in the Forest

  • Laser installation: lasers placed by divers on a platform in the Molenvijver

  • Gate installation: Elegant pixel-controlled LED arcs formed a gate

The unique soundscape empowered and connected the installations into a whole, with the atmosphere slowly changing from one installation to the next. Painting with Light took care of the entire elaboration, from concept design to realisation. We could also count on Laserforum for the laser installation, the Genk diving club for building the pontoon and the Scouts van Genk for the realization of the Weven installation. Kiani & His Legion (Thomas Neyens) composed the soundscape. Our eye-catchers already left a lot of spectators stunned.
