The Unified Water Label Association is a collaborative European initiative to label water using bathroom products. It brings together four of the 5 European Water Labelling schemes: Sweden, Swiss, Portugal and European Water Label harmonising technical data and moving to one label under the banner of the Unified Water Label - UWL. The Unified Water Label Association is the legal body that hosts the UWL.
The label is supported by over 160 brands, with eighteen supporters promoting the scheme across Europe and currently has over 20,000 products with more being added every day.
Market representation is around 70% of the European and 80% of the UK bathroom industry. It is now well respected and formally recognised within the ISO 31600 Water Label Standard.
All companies selling a relevant product that meets the Scheme criteria on the EU, EFTA and EEA markets, can register for the scheme.
Products that carry the label include showers, taps, WC’s, urinals (including bowls, independent flushing cisterns, controllers and flush free), baths, and recirculating showers with spray WC’s and seats under production.
The Unified Water Label Association provides a wealth of information and literature to help companies promote the UWL and gain a competitive advantage.
By working together, the industry can promote innovative products and the UWL, which will aid governments looking to meet environmental targets.
