Christborn® has grown steadily to an internationally known label and has become one of the best addresses for mouth blown and hand painted Christmas Glass Ornaments.

History Weihnachtsland GmbH

The company is called Weihnachtsland since 1992.

Preceded by a merge of the Höfler GmbH and the Süddeutsche Benda Christbaumschmuck GmbH & Co. KG both located in the wider area of Nuremberg.

Both companies are counted as one of the oldest stakeholder within Christmas decorations. Since that time they acted as traditional family manufacturer of Christmas Decorations which were mainly located in Thuringia.

The Höfler GmbH was originally established as Höfler & Cie. 1919.

Hereafter a range of decorations companies were taken over.

As a result Weihnachtsland became industry.

The first production for Christmas Glass was taken over in 1995. The company was called Glasmanufactur Steinach GmbH located in Thuringia.

The greatest step was the acquisition of Krebs & Sohn GmbH in Rosenheim in 2002. The most important factory of machine made Christmas Glass in that time.

Completed by Christborn GmbH in 2004 the premium manufacturer of high class mouth blown Christmas Glass. A joint-venture located in the Ukraine was founded in 2005.

At the peak roughly 250 employees where counted and produced over 30.000.000 Christmas glass bulbs distributed in the whole world.

With the beginning of the nineties a Hong Kong branch was settled.

Weihnachtsland Far East Ltd.

The aim was to accompany bigger accounts by their direct import from China.

2007 in advance of the world-wide finance crisis the import business as well as the production of machine made Christmas Glass had been sold due to the increasing imports from China.

Since 2008 the core business is Christborn® and an important brand called Sereno® was added 2013.

Continuously accompanied by Weihnachtsland Far East in Hong Kong.

The latest acquisition was made 2018 the “Oberfraenkische Glas” one of the oldest producer of mouth blown glass ornaments, which is founded in 1948 in Germany.
